WOYWW 566 – Easter Crafting with the Cricut Maker

Firstly, how did we get to week 566 in this global craft desk hop?! Obviously we need to keep going until 1000 now, and that is more than 8 years away. Yes, I actually got the calculator out and worked that out. If you want to join in with ‘What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday’, then go to Stamping Ground.

I am late today, which is better than missing out a week entirely, which I did last week. I have actually been busier than usual since Lockdown started in the UK. Plus, last week I was not too well – high temperature and even less energy than normal. It wasn’t a fever though and no persistent cough (just the constant tickly throat caused by hayfever, we think).

Another thing taking up my time and energy is coping with a delivery from Tesco. No longer can the driver bring the boxes through to the kitchen and help unload. Now he leaves them on the doorstep in a lot of plastic bags and I have to wipe down/remove external packaging, carry through to kitchen in a plastic laundry basket (which is disinfected afterwards), take bags and packaging straight out to the bins in the garage, wash my hands several times and leave some items in a separate area of the porch or pantry, if they are not needed immediately. Post and parcels are handled the same way, with a quarantine area in our boiler room for at least 24 hours. I used to work professionally in food hygiene and cleaning practices, but I haven’t gone as far as putting a full white suit/mask on!

I hope that everyone is well(ish) and keeping busy. There still aren’t enough hours in each day for me to get fully through any To Do List, let alone the long list of things I would like to do.

My photos today are of yesterday, as then I was doing some crafting. I used my Cricut Maker to make some Easter cards and cute bunny boxes for the granddaughters. I also designed some Easter cards in Procreate and printed them out. Just one more card to design today for an uncle/aunt who are churchgoers and will appreciate a card with a religious theme.

Today I am packing up all the parcels and cards – several birthdays this month as well – for the courier to collect tomorrow. Therefore, my craft room is very messy and very uncrafty.

Finished Easter cards
Finished bunny boxes (with mini chocolates inside for the 3 granddaughters)

Stay Safe everyone. I am intending to do some mixed media crafting in the coming week, but I won’t promise anything, as I may just eat hot cross buns and watch YouTube!

ps It is noted that a few people are not able to leave a comment on my posts. I will go back and check settings again, but there are also many who are having no problems, so it is all a puzzle to me. Email me at hello@aliwade.com if you ever want to get in touch.

  2. Lovely bright colours of your Easter cards Ali, looks really nice with the die cut over lay and those little bunny boxes are very sweet nice little gifts for your grandchildren.
Shopping is a very different experience for us all now but i’m thankful to still be able to get those essentials for more than one household especially those that are unable to get a delivery slot.
Take care of yourself, Happy WoywW & enjoy the Easter weekend what ever your plans Tracey #24

  4. I love your cards and boxes- gorgeous. Yes who knew that a delivery from the superstore would end up as a workout. We managed to get a delivery a couple of weeks ago and by the time we had taken it all in, washed it and put away, were shattered! ha ha. Take care stay safe Soojay #18

  5. I’m removing the packaging from mail and putting it straight in the bin then washing my hands but not quite as thorough as you I’m sure. Loving your Easter cards and boxes, very sweet. Take care and wishing you a happy belated WOYWW, Angela x15x

  6. Love the little bunny boxes and the cards are so vibrant. It is such a hassle with shopping now isnt it. Take care and stay safe my friend. Happy Belated WOYWW. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#20)

  7. Sorry I’m late. I know what you mean about not enough hours in the day. Fab Easter makes for your lovelies, the bright colours are very much my cuppa! We’re having such a warm spring that I’m not surprised your probable hay fever was spiked, but very glad to read that you’re better.

  8. I love all your Easter cards and boxes, Ali! You have been busy. I am sorry to hear you’ve had a temperature but it seems as if you’ve escaped the lurgy at any rate… Your description of your Tesco deliveries mirrors my own exactly – a lot more work involved than usual. It is very hard getting a delivery slot in the first place!

Stay safe and well, and happy belated WOYWW,
