WOYWW 564 – a week that I needed lots of distraction

This whole world is very shaken and delicate at the moment. I am too. I have been having cold/hayfever type symptoms for over a week, as well as hubby, and then I became quite ill on Monday night, which made me panic. Thankfully, I was feeling a bit better yesterday, so hopefully it is just a cold combined with my usual Fibromyalgia issues. I am praying that family/friends/WOYWWers are all well and coping with enforced isolation. My usual lifestyle is isolated compared to many so, apart from missing the freedom to go shopping whenever I want and craft workshops, life for me has not changed much.

If you would like to join in with WOYWW (What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday), then go to Stamping Ground.

I haven’t done any crafting since last week (been very busy with my online affiliate work and watching Procreate Live sessions each day this week), so my photos show my views from my chair right now. To my right is my little table (my original crafting table from 2003!) with my fantastic Cricut Maker (Rose Gold). I am going to do some Easter projects with that soon. To my left you can see my main crafty table, which still has the felt flowers on it waiting to be finished!

Well, that is it for today. Us crafters have one positive in this scary time – we certainly aren’t bored staying at home! I keep having friends and family asking if I am getting lots of craft projects done. Well, so far, that has not happened. However, it will be a few weeks at least before it is safe for me to go out and about again, so I am sure that next week I will have some projects to show off. I look forward to seeing what you are all doing. Remember that I am on Instagram if you want to see what I am up to daily.

Stay safe.

Ali xx

  1. Glad you are feeling better Ali, long may it continue. I don’t have to go into work until next week so feeling fairly relaxed this week. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #10

  2. Hop eyou continue to stay safe and the cold/hayfever is just that… the symptons are quite different but it’s easy to panic. I wish I had time to craft but working from home means I have to – work! still, thankful for small mercies I guess… Helen #5

  3. Your comment is so true crafters and creatives will new be bored staying at home. I think in about 9 months time we will have a whole lot of babies and probably a few divorces ;(. Stay safe and keep crafting.

  4. No wonder you were frightened, although I believe this virus starts with a dry cough that makes your throat hurt like hell and then you get a temperature…..etc. Isolation is just the ticket Ali, so stay that way! Are you getting a grip on the Procreate stuff I wonder? Sounds like you’re enjoying the journey…you wouldn’t be watching them so regularly if the sessions weren’t any good after all! Will be very pleased to see you using that lovely Cricut, bet you’ve got all sorts in your head for it!

  5. I’m glad you are feeling better now, Ali – and your hubby too – I can understand how worried you must have been, going down with those symptoms. Like you, with ME, I am more or less confined to the house anyway, so the lockdown isn’t any hardship for me. The only difference is having my hubby around all the time, which is a bonus! He’s normally out and about so much and half the time I have no idea where he is! I love the look of your room – so bright and clean looking, and organised. Lovely sloping ceiling and a very pretty rug. What are the Procreate Live sessions you mentioned? I love using Procreate too. I recently discovered that you can easily convert Procreate images into vector images using Adobe Capture which looks great, and really easy, but I haven’t tried it yet. It will be very useful for creating vector images for the cutting machine.

Stay safe and well, both of you!
    Happy belated WOYWW,

    1. The Procreate Live sessions were hosted by Design Cuts – and you can find them on their YouTube channel. One of them could not go ahead – Teela Cunningham from EveryTuesday with a session on animation – and that has been rescheduled for Thursday 2nd April @ 4 pm GMT. I use Affinity Designer, so will be using that for vectorising, but not got to that level yet!

  6. What a super space you have Ali and your so right even though we have more spare time on our hands it’s hard to focus and put it all onto paper. Hope I can comment this week, For some reason I keep getting an error message.
Take Care & stay safe Tracey #19 xx
